Art
has been my passion for as long as I can remember, but has only
been exercised seriously the last 10 years or so, as being a wife
and mother took priority over everything.
Eventually
when my family flew the nest and found homes of their own, I realised
it is my time to do something I have always longed for and that
was to expand my vocabulary in art, both practically and
academically.
So
after completing a 2-year fine art course at Lichfield &
Tamworth College I applied and gained entry into Wolverhampton
University ,
completing a three-year course in Fine Art, Painting, gaining a
Bachelor of Arts Degree with honours, in September
2007.
Now,
at home my work is more confined to working in oils
and acrylic paint on canvas, consisting of diverse subject matter
in contemporary, traditional and abstract styles.
I also work from photographs especially when working on commissions;
the stability of the photograph helps me define the contours of
the subject.
